Good Samaritan News

Box of Joy

This fall, the Good Samaritan Project family partnered with Cross Catholic Outreach to provide shoe boxes filled with Christmas presents to send to kids from an impoverished country. This new endeavor was a result of our teens and parishes trying to keep their spirit of the Good Samaritan alive!

As described by the group organizing this effort, Cross Catholic Outreach, these boxes will be going to kids in one of seven third world countries. These kids are in communities that are “super poor”. For many of these kids this could be their first time receiving a present…ever. No birthday presents, no Christmas presents, no “just because” presents.  This was a special opportunity for our teens to really share joy and cast the nets of mission to a much different group!

We were able to secure enough donations to fill 157 boxes!! These Christmas presents will be sent to kids in need from various countries. The outpouring of generosity from our parishioners shows us just much we are #courageouslyliving the Gospel! Thank you to all those who supported this effort. Let us continue to pray for these children!
